Provenance record
A short record of what we know about a piece, and who told us.
What it is
A provenance record states the facts a producer has given us about one piece: what it is, where it comes from, who made it, and what it is made of.
It is not a certificate of authenticity. We do not certify anything we cannot substantiate ourselves.
Where a field is empty, it is because the information has not been confirmed. We would rather show a gap than fill it.
What it contains
Product, origin, producer, composition, reference and collection. Nothing more, unless the producer supplies more.
When it is issued
Only for pieces where the producer has given us the information in writing. Those pieces show a provenance link on the product page.
